Eating, Shopping, and Staying in Woodstock
Bookstock is held in and around the historic village of Woodstock, VT. There are plenty of places right nearby for a treat or a quick lunch — or something more substantial — and some great choices within a short drive of town.
Eating
For lunch or a snack, Bookstock offers some delectable options right on (and close by) The Green.
- Mon Vert Mini on The Green will serve cold-brewed coffee, drinks, pastries, and snacks
- The Village Butcher will set up its grill. On Friday, they’ll serve Local Wagyu Hamburgers, McKenzie Natural Casing Hot Dogs, Veggie Burgers; on Saturday, Beef, Chicken and Veggie Kabobs; and on Sunday, Housemade Italian Sausage with Peppers and Onions and a vegetarian option. They’ll also serve drinks and chips.
- The Green Bunny will serve granola and popsicles on The Green.
- Splendid Bakes, which is near the Norman Williams Public Library, sells outstanding cupcakes, muffins, cookies, sandwiches, soup and drinks.
Within two blocks of The Green, you’ll find sandwiches, treats or a more substantial lunch:
- Coburn’s Tonic: sandwiches, soups, salads, entrees, cocktails
- The Village Butcher: sandwiches, salads, drinks
- Woodstock Scoops: maple creemees, ice cream, sandwiches, drinks
- Mon Vert Cafe: sandwiches, salads, pastries, drinks
- Dreamscape Cafe: coffee, tea, pastries
- The Red Rooster at the Woodstock Inn: sit-down lunch, cocktails
The White Cottage Snack Bar and the Woodstock Farmers’ Market are about a mile from The Green toward Rutland. They’re both open during the day. The South Woodstock Country Store, about five miles south from The Green, offers sandwiches, drinks, soup and pastries.
And, if you want dinner, Dr. Coburn’s Tonic; The Red Rooster and Richard’s Tavern at The Woodstock Inn; The Prince and the Pauper; Melaza; and Santé serve dinner and are a short walk from The Green. Within a mile or less from The Green toward Quechee, you’ll find Angkor Wat, Ottauquechee Yacht Club, Woodstock Pizza Chef, and The Worthy Kitchen. The Ransom Tavern in South Woodstock serves Neapolitan-style pizza. And to the west of town, 506 Bistro at On The River Inn serves dinner.
