Biography

Rick Winston has presented programs on film history throughout Vermont and his new book, “Save Me a Seat! A Life With Movies” will be out in August. Rick Winston was the co-founder of Montpelier’s Savoy Theater in 1981 and ran it with his wife Andrea Serota until 2009. He was also program director of the Green Mountain Film Festival from 1999-2012. He teaches film at Burlington College, Community College of Vermont (Montpelier), and the Montpelier Senior Activity Center, while speaking on film subjects for the Vermont Humanities Council. He has also done extensive historical research on Vermont during the McCarthy Era.
