Biography

Katherine Paterson A two-time winner of the Newbery Medal and the National Book Award, Katherine Paterson has written over forty books, including eighteen novels for children (A Bridge to Terabithia, The Great Gilly Hopkins, Jacob Have I Loved, My Brigadista Year), as well as the memoir Stories of My Life. She is a former National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature and is the recipient of the Hans Christian Andersen Award, the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, and the Vermont Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts.
