Biography
Jay Parini is a poet, novelist, biographer, screenwriter, and critic, having written more than 20 books with his most recent work being, Borges and Me: An Encounter and which Ian McEwan called “a jewel of a work” and Ann Beattie described as “a road trip like no other.” His books have been translated in more than thirty languages, and he writes articles and reviews for many publications, including The Guardian and The Chronicle of Higher Education. He also contributes op-ed pieces to various websites, including CNN, Salon, and The Daily Beast. He holds degrees from both Lafayette College and the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. He lives in Weybridge, Vermont with his wife and three sons where he has been on the faculty at Middlebury College since 1982.
