Biography
Charlotte Matthews is author of four poetry collections, a memoir, and a novel. Associate Professor at The University of Virginia, she teaches writing to adult learners. Charlotte has received fellowships from The Chautauqua Institute, The Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, and The Virginia Center for Creative Arts. Charlotte is also the cofounder of Whistle Words, an organization that helps women in and post cancer treatment to reclaim their sense of self. A documentary film and anthology are also in the works from the writings of workshop participants. She lives in Crozet, Virginia and in her free time likes to meander in the woods.
