Lindsey Stoddard is a children’s book author and Vermont native. She grew up maple sugaring in her grandpa’s woods, and has been hiking sections of the Appalachian Trail since she was thirteen.

She taught middle school English in New York City for ten years, where she realized she wanted to write for kids, and received her MFA in Creative Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts in 2011.  She’ll be discussing her first book, JUST LIKE JACKIE, the story of 11-year-old, tough-as-nails Robinson who can’t stay out of trouble at school, and who wants to protect her grandfather, whose memory isn’t what it used to be. JUST LIKE JACKIE has been listed on the Indies Introduce and Indies Next Top Ten. It is a Junior Library Guild selection and has been recognized by Kirkus Reviews on the Top Twelve Children’s Books with Diversity in Mind.
