Julia-ShipleyJulia Shipley is the author of a debut poetry collection, The Academy of Hay, winner of the 2014 Melissa Lanitis Gregory Poetry Prize, and Adam’s Mark, a love story about discovering connections between the endeavors of writing and farming, which was supported by a Vermont Arts Council Creation Grant and named a 2014 Best Book About New England by the Boston Globe. A contributing editor to Yankee Magazine and a contributing writer for Seven Days: Vermont’s Independent Weekly, her articles, essays and poems have also appeared in Burlington Free Press, Fourth Genre, Green Mountains Review, North American Review, the Boston Globe, Northern Woodlands, Orion Magazine, Poetry, The Rumpus, The Toast, Vermont Life, Taproot, Verse Daily and elsewhere.
