Jim Sadwith and Academy Award-winner Chris Cooper screen Coming Through the Rye and participate in a talk-back. Jim wrote, directed and produced the film in which Chris plays JD Salinger. This touching and funny coming of age/road trip film is based upon 16 yr. old Jim’s search for JD Salinger in 1969. Independently produced with much of the financing coming from local Woodstock residents, the movie just completed a tour of twenty top regional film festivals around the country where it sold out most screenings and garnered over a dozen awards including Audience Choice awards, Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best American Independent Film and others. Chris Cooper has created a host of memorable performances in over 46 films, including Matewan (1987), Lonesome Dove (1989), Lone Star (1996), October Sky (1998), American Beauty (1999), The Bourne Identity (2000 and 2004), Seabiscuit (2003), Capote (2005), Syriana(2005), Breach (2007). The Town (2010), The Muppets (2011), August: Osage County (2013), The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014). Chris won both an Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Adaptation (2002). Chris lives with his wife Marianne Leone in Kingston, MA. Although this is Jim Sadwith’s feature debut he has had a long career writing and directing movies, miniseries and drama pilots for television which have won or been nominated for over 30 Emmy and Golden Globe awards. He lives with his wife, Nerissa Edwards in South Woodstock.
